‘Abbraccio’s winemaking processes are meticulously cared for to enhance the natural characteristics of the Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes.
The harvest takes place manually, with the Merlot harvested in mid-September and the Cabernet Sauvignon at the beginning of October, ensuring optimal maturation.
After destemming and crushing, the grapes begin their transformation in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature (26-28C), where both the maceration on the skins for 30 days and the malolactic fermentation are conducted with precision.
The refinement follows, with a part of the wine matured in second passage barriques and the rest in concrete tanks for approximately 12 months, to enrich the aromatic profile and the palate.
Located in the picturesque area of the Romagna chalk vein, the vineyards from which Abbraccio is born enjoy ideal geological and climatic conditions.
With a history dating back to 1998 and 2000, these vineyards span 1.6 hectares of medium-textured clay soil, known for its richness in limestone and potassium.
The south-west exposure and the altitude of 150-230 meters above sea level offer a unique microclimate which infuses the Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes with unparalleled complexity and robustness.
This terroir, combined with the dedication of the winemakers, gives life to a wine that is not only a product of the earth, but a liquid story of the Romagna landscape.
