The art of ‘Abbas’ winemaking begins with the care and selection of the Albana grapes, harvested manually towards the end of September.
These grapes are delicately dried, accentuating their natural sweetness and aromatic concentration.
After pressing, during which the free-run must is expertly separated, a light static decantation follows which prepares the must for fermentation at controlled temperatures between 12 and 14.
This delicate process preserves the aromatic integrity and complexity of the wine.
Aging on the yeasts in stainless steel tanks for approximately six months further enriches ‘Abbas’, giving it a velvety texture and a distinctive character that persists and delights.
‘Abbas’ originates from the hills of Mazzolano in Riolo Terme, Ravea, an area blessed with a terroir that is the closest thing to paradise for viticulture.
Planted in 1996, our Albana vineyards span approximately 3 hectares of clay soil, enriched with limestone and potassium, which infuses the wine with subtle mineral notes and an intriguing complexity.
Situated at an altitude of 150-230 metres, with optimal exposure to the west, the vineyards enjoy an ideal climate and generous sun exposure, factors which contribute to the uniqueness of ‘Abbas’.
