The creation of ‘Regina’ represents the pinnacle of winemaking art, starting with the manual selection of the best Albana grapes, left to dry on the vines until the end of October to concentrate their natural aromas and sweetness.
This drying process is not rushed; nature dictates the rhythm, allowing an organic development of flavors.
In the cellar, the grapes are delicately pressed, separating the precious ‘free-run must’ to preserve the purity of the fruit.
Fermentation is carefully controlled at temperatures between 12 and 14C, balancing science and art, while the wine matures in both stainless steel tanks and oak barriques, where 50% rests for 15 months, gaining complexity and character.
This dualistic refinement not only enriches the wine with notes of vanilla and sweet spices from the wood, but also allows for an evolution of structure, body and aroma, resulting in a dessert wine that is a triumph of balance, depth and refinement.
Immersed in the picturesque setting of the Mazzolano hills in Riolo Terme, our Albana vineyards are a tribute to the richness and diversity of the local soil.
Planted in 1996, these vineyards thrive at an altitude of 150-230 meters, benefiting from western exposure that captures an abundance of afternoon sun.
The particularity of the Romagnola chalk vein area is reflected in the medium-textured soil, whose clayey composition is enriched by natural deposits of limestone and potassium, contributing to the complexity and distinctive character of the wine.
This unique terroir not only nourishes the vines, but manifests itself in every sip of ‘Regina’, transporting the taster on a sensory journey through the hills of Ravea.
Each bottle a celebration of the convergence of nature, tradition and innovation, embodying the essence of a landscape that is as lush as it is historic.
